Letting myself catch up with it all

It has been several months since I last done anything art.  I was fortunate to have a show within the last part of 2014 in Merced.  Despite being a small city, I was able to discover a richness that I enjoyed from visiting the downtown area.  It reminded me of the place I grew up, except that there was actually a night life.  The show by the way should be up for about one more week before it goes down.

Aside from the recent art show,I was allowing myself to attempt at doing what I feel is best by going out and finding a career that would best provide for my family.  It was just a matter of time before I found out that I was neglecting the thing that made me who I am today.  After a hiatus, I’m going to start painting again very soon.  With new content in mind, I feel this is what I needed to push me towards life’s next step.

“Disambiguation I.” reception night

Had the most wonderful time holding a reception for my solo exhibition at Gallery 1821. With musical performances from Mina Valdeabella, John Lennard Ibarra and Neal Ruperto, the audience was able to listen to some original Filipino compositions through voice, piano and violin. It was really neat to see students and instructors from FCC and Fresno State come by. We had guests from around the Fresno area and even the Bay Area to come see the show. I was very lucky to work the Bruce, the gallery owner, Bibi Bielat, and Edward Lund to help with putting up the work. It might be some time before I show in Fresno again, so until then I hope to see all of my guests again at the next show!

First Homepage

After a few years of being involved with the art community here, I’ve finally decided to create a homepage.  I can honestly say that I haven’t created a site since I used notepad and converted the files into .html files.  I know that it is not much, but it is just to have one up in running.  How exciting, and addicting it is to create!

As a first post I would also like to mention that I have a show up and running at the Gallery 1821 in downtown Fresno.  I’ll be having my artist reception on Saturday, January 25th 2014 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.  Just to let some of you know, I’ll be planning something pretty neat for it.  Hope everyone can make it.
